Description

Side view this time.
It seems that with the creation of the MG and HGUC lines, every obscure mech from Zeta, Stardust, and AOZ got the star treatment, often with variations and multiple versions... hell, look at all of the different Quebleys and Quebley variants. But sadly, it seems like Baund Doc never got any love... there have been a few gashapon and an MSIA figure, but no plamo of NRX-055 is available today. It's a shame, too, because it is such a unique and menacing design, especially in the hands of Makoto Kobayashi and the many modelers who emulate his dirty, hyperrealistic/surreal style. My friend Tony ( [link] ) kindly gave me a beautiful Makoto Kobayashi book for my recent birthday, A book I had never seen before. So I've been on another Kobayashi kick recently. It inspired me to dig out an old Baund-Doc gashapon and remodel it into an homage to MK. This gashapon was a really ghetto chinese knock-off picked up from a swapmeet years ago; it was from a set of counterfeit figures from zeta, all of them melty and deformed and sloppily painted. I remember the blister card was decorated with a picture of Bright Noah and, inexplicably, various autobots and decepticons which had nothing to do with the toys contained therein. Gotta love the bizarro universe of Chinese counterfeit products.
